Legal woes

The Johnny Rockets that closed in Pentagon City has been fined more than half a million dollars for denying workers minimum wage and overtime. The ruling comes from the Department of Labor dating back to incidents from 2013-2015. [Patch]

Family trees

Washingtonian traces back current D.C. chefs to four main mentors: Jeff Buben (Vidalia), the late Michel Richard (Central), Roberto Donna (Al Dente), and Bob Kinkead. Washington Business Journal had produced a similar worker family tree for Kinkead (currently consulting on HalfSmoke in D.C.), mentor to about two dozen D.C. chefs, earlier this summer.
