Novelty foods
New at Et Voila! this week: stuffed waffles. The Belgian restaurant is offering two new stuffed waffle creations during brunch. One’s filled with chicken, mushrooms, and spinach and topped with an egg, while the other is stuffed with salmon and leeks with more salmon on top. They’ve added bottomless mimosas for $15 and all-you-can-eat-mussels for $30 to their brunch slate, too.
Opportunist alert
Of course people are selling coffee sleeves from the Luke’s Diner pop-ups on Ebay. For $99. The Gilmore Girls-themed pop-ups were huge in D.C. earlier this week. [E]
Expansions
Looks like Maki Shop number two could be on the way. If the owner can raise $900,000, that is. [WBJ]
Controversies
The fight between Bardo’s second location and D.C.’s liquor regulators continue. ABRA is now saying the beer garden can open in Navy Yard — but only if it closes by 10 p.m. each night. [BiDC]
The shutter
Another closing to report in Clarendon. ARLNOW reports Spice is no more at 3033 Wilson Blvd.
