FOOD TV—Catch local chef Serge Pambo (Maxine) compete on “Chopped” on Tuesday, Nov. 29 on the Food Network. The chef is currently at work developing a series of pop-up dinners. [EaterWire]

They’re serving a $20 Express a la carte lunch on weekdays with a starter salad, entree, and non-alcoholic beverage. LOGAN CIRCLE—This weekend marks the launch of brunch at poultry-centric restaurant The Bird. The menu includes such items as a turkey steak and egg, wings, a Mexican chicken soup, grilled chicken tacos, and more. They’ll offer it from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Saturday. [EaterWire]

THE CRITICS—Restaurant ratings service Renzell has launched in D.C. The app relies on anonymous raters to deliver assessments using a variety of criteria, focusing on eight categories. GEORGETOWN—The Watergate’s Next Whisky Bar is kicking off Whisky Wednesdays this week from new head bartender Rachel Sergi. Those who head there from 4-6:30 p.m. will be able to taste rare whiskeys at discounted prices, and meet with various distillers or producers. First up is Islay Scotch producer Bruichladdich Distillery. Upcoming events will host Speymalt Macallan, Jim Beam, Balcones, and more. [EaterWire]

FARRAGUT—Multiple news items on the popover front. BLT Steak is putting ten “golden tickets” inside popovers tomorrow in celebration of the restaurant’s ten-year anniversary. Each golden ticket will offer various prizes. The restaurant is also bringing back its Thanksgiving Leftovers popovers the day after the holiday, stuffed with ingredients like roast turkey, stuffing, and prime rib.
