New eatery Tredici Enoteca debuts dinner service tonight at 2033 M St. NW as part of the extensive lobby renovation reveal of The St. Gregory Hotel.
The expansive 4,500-square-foot space pulls menu items from different parts of the Mediterranean including Italy, Greece, and the Middle East.
There’s a wide veggie focus, with options like broccoli and avocado with black sesame and dijon vinaigrette, cumin carrots with yogurt and cilantro, and a Mediterranean tasting board with hummus, falafel, vegetables, Tuscan bread, and quinoa salad.
For meatier fare, the menu’s got hanger steak with crispy potato and salsa verde and Moroccan spice pork ribs with grilled scallions. Appetizers and mains range from $8 to $35. Last week marked the start of breakfast and lounge service, and dinner launches tonight.
The raw bar will produce tuna crudo with sweet soy, avocado, black sesame, and jalapeño, as well as stone crab claws, and a daily oyster selection. The Tredici concept comes from Philadelphia-based Zavino Hospitality Group, and flatbreads found at its sister wine bar and pizzeria Zavino are also available.
Wine is also big at Tredici, with 30 options by the glass or bottle from California, Italy, Argentina, Chile, and France. A Cruvinet temperature-controlled system can store up to six bottles, with picks like Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 and the Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 1980.
A rotating list of cocktails is also available, along with 10 beers by the bottle.
The Tuscan countryside-inspired decor throughout the 60-seat dining room includes white oak herringbone floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and fantasy brown marble. The 30-seat sleek bar, lined with dark green Italian leather swivel stools, is flooded with natural light thanks to soaring skylights above.
An outdoor patio will debut in the spring with 35 more seats.
