It was a busy D.C. restaurant weekend for U.S. leaders.
First off, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hit up a new (to them) restaurant: Italian restaurant Casa Luca. The First Family, though, is no stranger to chef Fabio Trabocchi’s cooking, having dined at both his Fiola Mare and Fiola restaurants multiple times in the past. Washingtonian reported the Sunday evening dinner was with friends in a private room of the restaurant, but no menu details were available. The First Lady has been spotted at more than 50 restaurants around D.C. during her tenure.
Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden was seen having pizza at Pizzeria Paradiso. Twitter users spotted Biden at the Dupont Circle location of the local mini-chain on Saturday. UPDATE: A rep confirmed the visit, saying the Vice President posed for photos and even autographed a menu for chef Ruth Gresser.
Biden isn’t as prolific a D.C. restaurant-goer as his boss, but has been spotted at such D.C. destinations as Le Diplomate, Shake Shack and Delaware transplant Capriotti’s, among others.
