Soon, D.C. will no longer be the only city with a Zaytinya. The José Andrés Penn Quarter spot — which serves Greek, Turkish and Lebanese food — will soon get a sister location, in Dallas. Zaytinya, along with a handful of other José Andrés outposts, was just added to Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list in D.C. this past October.
Well, technically, it’s Frisco, Texas, which is part of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area. The new Zaytinya will be an offering of the entertainment district of the real estate development The Star. The Star is notable for a sports-centric reason: it’s the HQ of the Dallas Cowboys. Right now it’s mostly about the football there — stadium, practice facilities — though the entertainment district will add dining and shopping to the mix.
The Dallas-area Zaytinya sounds like it will mimic the D.C. locale — with authentic Mediterranean decor and seating for 250.
