D.C.'s Filipino food trend officially continues, as another restaurant highlighting the cuisine works to open in Rockville.

Kuya Ja's Lechon Belly will highlight the traditional roasted pork belly dish, among other food items, when it eventually opens in Maryland. The restaurant has been doing weekend pop-ups at the owners' sister bakery, called Gwenie's Desserts, as the team searches for a location in the Rockville/North Bethesda area.

Most of the business at the pop-up has been carryout, according to Kuya Ja's Javier Fernandez, since seating is limited at the pop-up. Customers can follow the pop-up schedule on the restaurant's Facebook page.
