Hawthorne, Tail Up Goat Now Open

Two popular dining neighborhoods get more restaurants.


1) U STREET: The restaurant section of Hawthorne is now open for dinner service. The four-level bistro and bar by owners Reed Landry and Fritz Brogan debuted last month. Chef Dot Steck's menu includes eight different varieties of steamed mussels served with duck fat fries, salt cod croquettes, and pork shoulder with mushroom and huitlacoche risotto. 2) ADAMS MORGAN: Komi and Little Serow vets Jon Sybert, Jill Tyler, and Bill Jensen opened Tail Up Goat yesterday, according to Washingtonian. The neighborhood restaurant's menu has a Mediterranean bent with dishes like crispy salt cod with smoked cauliflower and cavatelli with octopus ragu. The cocktail menu has a Caribbean influence.
