Vigilante Coffee is reopening tomorrow with an improved space and new hours.

The cafe will now operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The coffee shop and roastery at 4327 Gallatin St. in Hyattsville closed for a few days this week to make upgrades. Tomorrow afternoon's reopening party will include live music by four local bands.

The biggest improvement is the addition of a 20 foot-long coffee bar made of concrete and cedar by designer Troy Hickman. Owner Chris Vigilante says, "I've been fortunate to learn about bar design, flow, functionality, and the customer experience over these past five years here in Washington. Combine that with 10 years coffee experience and a goal to create an awesome work station for our staff and this bar is the end result."

They've also added some coffee equipment like a powder white La Marzocco Linea PB espresso machine and new brew methods. Expect siphons, an AeroPress, and a Chemex. Vigilante is also expanding product offerings with ice cream from Trickling Springs, acai bowls, and plans to add beer and wine this spring.
