Georgetown gets not one, but two new bars with the arrival of The Sovereign, Neighborhood Restaurant Group's new tribute to all things Belgian, particularly beer.
There are separate upstairs and downstairs spaces, both which boast a separate bar and 50 draft beers. There's seating for 48 people at tables and 16 at the bar on the first level, and 47 at tables (a mix of high tops and booths) and 11 at the upstairs bar. Downstairs will take reservations; upstairs will be first come, first serve.
The space is a mix of pattered banquettes, reclaimed wood, etched ceiling details, intimate booths and striking deer head chandeliers. Take a look at the photos for additional detail; Eater will share more about the menu (from chef Peter Smith) and alcoholic options (from NRG's team of Brent Kroll, Jeff Faile and Greg Engert) when the restaurant opens, likely Thursday.
