Capitol Hill bagel shop Bagels and Baguettes is closing its doors, likely in the next few days.
Co-owner Helen Bekele tells Eater they have to shut down because of redevelopment-related construction at the property. She said she has been promised a spot at the building once construction is finished, but since that could take more than a year, they've been looking around for a new location.
So far, they haven't been able to find the right fit. "We love the neighborhood as much as they love us, so we hope we can find something," she said. The bagel shop has been at 236 Massachusetts Ave. NE for more than 20 years.
