All ambition

Some takeaways from Tim Carman's profile of chef Kwame Onwuachi, poised to open The Shaw Bijou soon: He spent time in Nigeria as a child. He got his start in the catering world. And The Shaw Bijou will be a ticketed experience, without a pre-set menu and costing upwards of $150. [WaPo]

Sip it good

The bone broth trend still lives on in D.C. Now Soup Up in Bethesda is carrying the beverage, which had a blast of popularity about this time last year.

Starbuckes Stereotypes

Carryout, canceled

Sushiko in Chevy Chase is no longer offering carryout, starting May 1. The restaurant is pretty frank about the situation on Facebook: "Our goal is to focus solely on the Sushiko's dining-in experience, to provide something truly memorable.
We didn't come to this decision lightly, we have many loyal customers like you that order carryout from us on a weekly basis, who will be very upset but we are finding that we are unable to improve the experience for both our dining-in and dining-out guests at the same time and both are starting to suffer."
