Better Start Training Now for the World Peeps Eating Championship

Here's one way to celebrate the arrival of spring— gorging on pastel-colored marshmallow bunnies.

The Peeps & Company store at National Harbor, which was apparently the first of its kind in the country, is hosting The National Harbor World Peeps Eating Championship in April 2 at 157 National Plaza. The fun begins at at noon with a contest for amateurs. Then, the professional eaters will show everyone how it's done at 1 p.m.

The eating contest is set to be the highlight event of Peeps Day, a whole day dedicated to activities devoted to the beloved Easter candy. Get excited for Peeps-themed drinks and desserts by some surrounding restaurants.There will also be music, visits by Peeps characters, and a kid’s "Dance Like a Peep" contest at 12:30 p.m. Find more information on the National Harbor website.
