Tracking D.C.'s Metro Shutdown Specials

The metro is shut down today, and D.C. is naturally in panic mode. Take a deep breath: at least commuters can drink away the pain at local bars and restaurants offering special deals in light of the ridiculousness. *Penn Commons is offering all-day happy hour, including $5 drinks.

*It's all-day Happy Hour at Del Campo.

*Half-priced drafts start at noon at Smoke & Barrel (they're opening early).

*New Uber accounts can get free Uber rides to Medium Rare (details here).

*JR's is opening at 1 p.m. for a metro closing party.

*Nando's Peri-Peri is doing its Nando's dash promotion (i.e. free chicken lunch for those who get there to dine in first) at all of its D.C. locations. Participants must bring their SmarTrip cards.

*Happy Hour at Dino's Grotto starts at 5 p.m. and goes as long as metro is closed. They'll also have half-priced wine all night.

*Bearnaise will be running Happy Hour all day with $5 draft beers, house red, white and rose. They'll also give $2 off any meal at the bar.

*Cuba Libre will offer a complimentary glass of cava (along with purchase of any food item) to customers who mention "Metro to Havana."

*Takoda will extend its whiskey and wings happy hour to 8 p.m. (an extra hour).

*Ambar will offer half-priced cocktails from 4 p.m. to close.

*Espita Mezcaleria will offer some 6 oz carafes for 4 oz prices.

*Blue Duck Tavern has a special ham board for $20.

*Station 4 will add a $4 SmuttyNose Smoked Cherry Short Weisse on draft all day to their offerings.

*Sudhouse has $2 beers, $5 burgers/wraps and 50 cent wings during the shutdown.

*Bayou Bakery's Capitol Hill location is doing a discount on their New Orleans style sandwiches with chips and a soda. The combo is discounted $2.15 (the price of a single rider metro ticket) today.

*Bluejacket is running a $4 special on tater tots and their Forbidden Planet and Lost Weekend beers until 6 p.m. The patio will be open.

* Both locations of Rustico are offering a teleworking lunch special today for $18. It includes a half sandwich, a half salad, and a draft beer. There will also be Happy Hour specials starting at 11:30 a.m.

*Fuego Cocina has $5 food and drink specials starting at 4 p.m.

*Happy Hour starts one hour earlier at 3 p.m. today at Ghibellina.

*Barcelona Wine Bar will extend its "social" happy hour until 7 p.m. and its Cathedral Heights location will offer a neighborhood paella as a takeout option.
