Soft-shell crab season is just kicking off in D.C. Fans of the delicacy will be scouring menus to find out where they can find the items around town (Eater is diligently tracking sightings here).

But there are also plenty of people out there who find soft-shell crabs outright disgusting. They're eaten whole, which means diners are eating just about every part of the crab, including the molting shell (items like gills are typically removed when cleaning).
