Fast-casual salad and stir-fry chain Honeygrow is expanding to D.C.

Two area locations are on the way. A summer opening is planned inside the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. Then another will open this winter in Chinatown at 716 7th St. NW (in the former Comfort One Shoes space).

Honeygrow (the chain's logo keeps the "h" lowercase) specializes in customizable salads and stir-fries ordered through a touch screen system. Customers can choose from proteins like chicken, roast pork, beef, shrimp, and roasted tofu and sauces like sour cherry BBQ, red coconut curry, and more. Each location also has a signature "honeybar" with chopped fruit topped with honey or maple syrup and various toppings.

The first Honeygrow store opened in Philadelphia in 2012 and has since expanded to other locations elsewhere in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
