Snow crab legs are surprisingly popular as an all-you-can-eat item. The salty, delicate meat trapped in thin shells makes for a fast and easy eating experience compared to blue crab, the crustacean that tends to inspire the D.C. area's loyalty.

While it's easy to find snow crab legs in many of the local Asian buffets, a little hustle is necessary to fill up on them. In some cases, the scramble can even lead to a physical altercation. Avoid the hassle and check out deals at these local restaurants and bars:

Mad Rose Tavern

3100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, Va.

Head here on Sundays, where $22 gets a buffet of snow crab legs, smoked salmon, huevos rancheros, Italian sausage, and salad.

Pier 2934

2934 M St. NW

On Tuesdays, $40 buys all-you-can-eat snow crab legs, crispy calamari, New England clam chowder, corn on the cob, and curly fries.

The Prospect

1214 U St. NW

This U Street sports bar offers their all-you-can-eat option for $29 every Tuesday.

Whitlow's on Wilson

2854 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Va.

During Saturday or Sunday brunch, head to here for the brunch buffet ($30) with snow crab legs, an omelet station, fried chicken, sausage gravy, corned beef hash, popcorn shrimp, and more. They also offer all-you-can-eat snow crab on Tuesday nights for $30.
