It's getting closer — the team behind Los Angeles-based Jinya Ramen is projecting late spring for its opening at Mosaic District.

The restaurant announced more details about the ramen shop it will open in the Merrifield development. It will occupy 2,500 square feet, and the goal is for this location to be the flagship on the East Coast (another will open later in D.C.). Ikedo Design is behind the 100-seat dining room, which will also have a bar and outdoor patio.

The restaurant specializes in Tonkotsu-style ramen (a pork-based broth). They'll have five different broths, other flavorings and seasonings, and more than 20 toppings. They also serve chicken ramen, vegan ramen, quinoa salads, rice bowls, small plates, and other menu items. There will be beer, cocktails, and sake, too.

Offerings at Mosaic District continue to expand — a Nando's Peri-Peri location is scheduled to open this weekend, and news broke earlier this week that Jennifer Carroll's Requin pop-up will be a permanent addition to the development.
