Conosci is opening tonight at 5 p.m. The 30-seat crudo bar is inside Michael Schlow's latest D.C. restaurant, Alta Strada, which opened last month.
Fresh seafood will be the focus, but Conosci will also serve seasonal vegetable dishes, meat creations, and a daily soup. There will be a la carte options, but diners can also choose from two tasting menus priced at $45 and $135 per person. Opening menu items include hamachi with uni, caviar, and "miracle sauce" and tuna poke with chiles, furikake, cilantro and yuzu.
Like Alta Strada, Conosci was designed by Edit Lab. The space is separated by blue velvet drapes. Inside, there are blue tufted banquettes and candle light reflects off the walls adorned by paintings by Schlow's wife Adrienne. In the middle of the room, expect a vintage bar cart stocked with spirits, mixers, juices, syrups, and bitters. There's no bar, so all cocktails will be mixed table-side.
