Bistrot Royal, the restaurant Christophe and Michelle Poteaux opened in the original Bastille space more than a year ago, will close its doors.
The restaurant, located at 1201 N. Royal Street, opened in January 2015. It replaced Bastille, which moved to a new home in the upcoming Parker-Grey area of Alexandria. Its last day in business will be April 30.
Some dishes from the menu will be added to Bastille's offerings, according to a press release. Bastille will also honor gift certificates from Bistrot Royal through September 5.
In a statement, the owners said they were having trouble splitting time between the two restaurants. "We plan to treat its final week in business as a celebration," the statement said. "We are very proud of the work we have done to create a unique dining experience here in Alexandria and we feel truly honored to have been a part of special moments in our guests' lives from engagements to birthdays to weekly dinners."
