Amanda Cook-Pilkerton IN at Centrolina; Veloce Celebrates First Anniversary

PENN QUARTER— Amanda Cook-Pilkerton is the new pastry chef at Centrolina. She most recently worked at Cookshop in New York City and also had a successful stint at CityZen here in D.C. Cook-Pilkerton will begin making changes to the restaurant menu and expand market offerings in late May. [EaterWire]

FARRAGUT WEST— Veloce will mark their one year anniversary with celebrations and giveaways the week of May 2. Expect a week of free pizzas, a breakfast pizza pop-up on the patio, a beer and pizza happy hour, and complimentary cupcakes.
