D.C.'s Food Critics Win Big at the James Beard Awards for Publishing

Awards for journalism, books, and more were given

Two big names in D.C. food writing took home James Beard Awards last night for their work.

The Washington Post's food critic Tom Sietsema won the Dining and Travel award for his "America's Best Food Cities" series. Meanwhile, outgoing Washingtonian critic Todd Kliman was awarded the MFK Fisher Distinguished Writing Award for his essay, "Pork Life," published in Lucky Peach.

Find a full list of winners for the foundation's Book, Broadcasting, and Journalism awards here. The restaurant and chef awards will be given out at a gala May 2, with such D.C. nominees as Aaron Silverman and Peter Chang up for categories.
