The team behind A-Town Bar & Grill debuts their latest restaurant, Barley Mac, today.
The bourbon bar has around 100 whiskeys on offer, the majority of them bourbon. They plan to specialize in more hard-to-find whiskeys like Old Rip Van Winkle and Yamazaki, according to owner Scott Parker.
Leading up the kitchen is chef Jeremy Magnanelli, along with food director Mike Cordero. The chef, a Lincoln vet, will bring a slight Italian twist to the American tavern menu, featuring dishes like a grilled Tomahawk pork chop with bourbon glaze, and a grilled octopus appetizer with chiles and balsamic. Mitch Johnson is handling the drinks.
Barley Mac will be half restaurant, half bar, designed by Yvette Irene with an open kitchen and big front windows that open up during warmer months. Soft opening is today and tomorrow, with a grand opening Friday. Status: Soft opening. 1600 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Va.; website.
