Politics and Prose will get back a coffee shop next week, with the opening of The Den.
The coffeehouse (which has been closed for several weeks for renovations) is now under the management of Matt Carr of Little Red Fox. There is now more furniture, a few dinner items, and wine and beer available at the location within the popular bookstore. They'll serve a new dessert called "Pie Fries," meat and cheese boards, tartines and more.
The coffee shop has a new Synesso espresso machine, will offer many types of toasts and aims to be kid-friendly. They'll also tie into the bookstore by featuring cookbooks and offering literary activities and menu items. Opening day is April 14. The shop changed ownership about a year ago.
