Several chef changes were announced today. Here's the lowdown:
*Oliver Beckert has been named executive chef for the upcoming Trump International Hotel, which will open later this year. He'll oversee all food and beverage operations for the hotel (which has faced controversy pre-opening). His resume includes time at the Four Seasons hotels in Vancouver, London, New York, and D.C. It's the fifth hotel he's opened. David Anderson will handle catering at the hotel.
*Kelly Bunkers is the new Ardeo+Bardeo chef, according to Tom Sietsema's chat. Bunkers most recently was executive sous chef at Le Diplomate. He'll add items like ramps pizza and a new burger.
*Taking over Birch & Barley and ChurchKey's kitchens is Nick Sharpe. The former Sonoma and Ba Be Chef had originally planned to open a new restaurant called Jolene, but he tells Washingtonian that project is no longer happening. Sharpe replaces longtime (and opening) Birch & Barley chef Kyle Bailey, who's now workingfor such restaurants as The Dubliner and Sixth Engine.
