1) SHAW: The Commodore Public House & Kitchen is opening today at 1100 P St. NW. Veranda wine bar closed for renovations back in February, but the owners decided to renovate and completely rebrand it under a new name. According to Facebook, the space will reopen tonight under the old name due to "some unforeseen issues."  But the changes will still reflect what's in store for The Commodore. Got that?

The menu hasn’t been finalized and is subject to change, but a preview lists items like poutine, marinated oysters, and steamed corn buns stuffed with grilled pork belly. The Commodore will have only craft beers on tap including brews from Evolution Craft Brewing Company, Port City Brewing Company, Fairwinds Brewery, and more. Eater reached out to the restaurant for any additional details. Status: Opening at 4 p.m. 1100 P St. NW. website.

2) GEORGETOWN: Bangkok Joe's is officially back in action. There are some menu items returning to the former Thai haunt on the Georgetown waterfront (which was briefly replaced by Mama Rouge), plus some spicier, more traditional items, like larb duck dumplings, crispy rice "yum" and more. The restaurant has room for 86 in the dining room, 10 at the Dumpling Bar, 12 at the cocktail bar, and 32 on the patio. Status: Reopening tonight. 3000 K St. NWwebsite.
