From drag bingo to...porchetta bingo?

Bingo may have a reputation as a game for the senior set, but D.C. bars know it only takes an open mind and a sense of humor to get just about anyone into the game. These bars offer Bingo Night, whether it be traditional-style, drag bingo, or with a specific spin (porchetta bingo, anyone?). Consider them for an unusual date night, a gathering with friends, or an alternative to the weekly trivia routine.

The place: Nellie's
900 U St. NW
When: Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m.
The deal: Before karaoke takes over, drag bingo takes Nellie's by storm. The event tends to attract regulars and often has a charitable component. Ba 'Naka and Sasha host.

The place: Shaw's Tavern
520 Florida Ave. NW

The deal: Shaw's Tavern occasionally hosts bingo nights with prizes, jello shots, and more, but they aren't on a set schedule. A worker told Eater the next one probably will take place in June; check their Facebook page for updates.
