Kyirisan Changes Reservation System; Embassy Chef Challenge Coming This Month

SHAW— Kyirisan has scrapped their phone only reservation policy and implemented a new system. They're still accepting only same day reservations, but they're handling them online through the restaurant's website and Reserve. Guests can still call after 4 p.m. the day they're hoping to secure a table. [EaterWire]

METRO CENTER— Embassy Chef Challenge will take place on Wednesday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Attendees will be able to try international bites by more than 15 embassy chefs. Tickets ($65) are available here. [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST— PoPville reports Old City Market and Oven is opening at 522 K St. NE. The corner store will carry beers, wine, coffee, meats, vegetables, but there will also be seating for enjoying espresso, cappuccino, freshly baked muffins, scones, and cookies. [PoP]
