It's happening — All-Purpose is opening tonight in Shaw. The collaboration between two beloved restaurant teams (Red Hen and Boundary Stone) features pizzas from chef Mike Friedman being served at 1250 9th St. NW.

The 90-seat restaurant serves pizzas with doughs inspired by the pies of Friedman's youth, made in old school deck ovens. There are six pizzas on the initial menu, topped with such items as mushrooms, truffles, and tallegio; pepperoni and honey; and additional combinations. There's also salumi, charcuterie, antipasti, and bruschetta. Cocktails lean classic, wines emphasize Italian and American varietals, and Tiffany MacIsaac is in charge of pastries like a rainbow cookie cake.

Take a tour of the space here.
