Pentagon not impossible

Robert Irvine of "Restaurant Impossible" fame is getting closer to opening up a restaurant at the Pentagon. Eater Vegas connected with Irvine about his upcoming Vegas restaurant, and he says during the chat that the Pentagon project is about a month away, and will serve healthy fare. The Pentagon restaurant, Robert Irvine Fresh Kitchen, has been about two years in the making. [EV]

College kids not welcome?

The Dew Drop Inn appears to be catering to an older crowd. Via PoPville, the restaurant posted signage on Facebook saying, "The Dew Drop Inn Is a Private Rock 'N Roll establishment, and We Welcome Guests 24 Years Old & Up." The sign seems geared against the college crowd from Catholic University, as it also reads, "*For Questions & Comments Please Contact www.MADD.org; CUA/officeofoffcampusliving.edu; or Mom." PoPville commenters have opinions. [PoP, Facebook]

It's official

Suma's grand opening is today, after a soft-opening period. The restaurant has menus from chef Gene Sohn, and is located at 4921 Bethesda Ave. in Bethesda. They'll serve pizzas, sherry mussels, grilled octopus, and more.

The shutter

The Bethesda Community Store, also known for its outdoor barbecue stand, has closed. Bethesda Magazine reports it operated there for about 15 years. [BM]

Gluten-free wire

One of the city's favorite burgers is now available to the gluten-free crowd. Chef Geoff Tracy finally has a locally-made hamburger bun he's happy with, so find it at the Chef Geoff's and Lia's locations.
