It's here — pastry chef Tiffany MacIsaac opens her Shaw bakery today at 1250 9th St. NW.
The shop is an offshoot of MacIsaac's successful pastry business, which focuses on wedding cakes and other products. The pastry chef left Neighborhood Restaurant Group back in 2014 to venture out on her own.
Expect breakfast items, like a scrambled egg and sausage Buttercream Breakfast Bun, Flakies (croissant-style pastries), Cinnascones (a scone/cinnamon roll hybrid), and more, plus coffee from Compass Coffee. There are other nostalgic desserts, too, like Nutella HoHos and Funfetti Cookie Cream Pies, and a whole line of cakes. They'll sell other celebratory retail items, too, like cards and cake toppers.
The cafe has 12 seats (here's a tour of the space). It's located in the Colonel building, which also houses pizzeria All-Purpose.
