Taylor Gourmet's Arrival Means Hoagies for Crystal City

1) CRYSTAL CITY: Taylor Gourmet's latest location is here. The hoagie shop has opened up a location in Arlington's Crystal City. The menu is the typical selection of sandwiches, salads, and the like, with a bike shop-inspired design from Grupo-7 Architecture + Interiors, and a mural from artist Kelly Towles. Status: Opening today at 11 a.m. 2200 Crystal Drive, Arlington, Va.; website.

2) BETHESDA: Tapp'd has replaced Union Jack's in Bethesda (the ownership remains the same). Bethesda Magazine reports the bar opened Saturday with new tabletops and televisions, 40 beers on tap, and a game room. Status: Certified open. 4915 St. Elmo's Street, Bethesda, Md.; website.

3) MOUNT VERNON TRIANGLE: It's opening day for Ottoman Taverna, the new Turkish restaurant from Hakan Ilhan (L'Hommage Bistro). The restaurant will specialize in mezze, flatbreads, kabobs and more. Here's a tour of the space. Status: Opening today. 425 I St. NW; website.
