DOWNTOWN— Melt Shop has closed its only D.C. location. The Washington outpost of the New York grilled cheese restaurant shuttered at 1901 L St. NW. A rep cited construction issues related to the building, but did not have any immediate information on whether the company would open another local store. [EaterWire]

CURBED DC— Eater's sister site Curbed has a story on Taylor Gourmet co-owner Casey Patten, who again treated the buyer of his home to hoagies. His new property has some history as a music school. [CDC]

GEORGETOWN— El Centro is officially operating under normal business hours. The Mexican restaurant closed on some days for a few weeks to update its flooring. [EaterWire]
