Georgetown mainstay Bistro Français has officially served its last meals in Georgetown.

The restaurant, located at 3124 M St. NW, served its last meals over the weekend. News of the pending closure broke last month, when the owner said it was time to retire amidst a changing neighborhood.

The 41-year-old restaurant was a particular favorite among the chef community, partly due to its late-night hours. On Facebook, chef and owner Gerard Cabrol posted this goodbye: "Thank you all my Bistro family, sincerely, for being true professionals, for being inspirational! You are a great team. Bistro Francais's successful outcome, the result of all your hard work and dedication, is [due] to you. Thank you for the pleasure and privilege of working with you!"
