Cappy's Crabs, New Tap Room for Atlas Brew Works, and More Barbecue Opening

Three new openings for the holiday weekend

1) PETWORTH— Cappy's Crabs is opening today in the former Crane & Turtle space, at least for the summer. The temporary restaurant from owner Paul Puppert will serve blue crabs, crab cakes, sandwiches, sides, Natty Boh, and Orange Crush. Nick Pimental is responsible for creating the Chesapeake Bay crab house vibe complete with picnic tables. Status: Certified open. 828 Upshur St. NW; website.

2) IVY CITY— The new, 2,6000-square-foot tap room at Atlas Brew Works opens today. Expect a new bar (with room to accommodate up to 16 draft lines) and view of the production brewery. The space was designed by FEIT Design of Charleston, S.C. The new tap room will be open seven days a week with extended hours. Status: Opening today at 4 p.m. 2052 West Virginia Ave. NE, Ste. 102website.

3) VIENNA— Oklahoma Joe's is opening at the new mixed-use development at the Dunn Loring metro, the Shops at Avenir Place. It's the barbecue chain's fourth location and the first outside of Oklahoma.
