Shouk is opening today at 613 K St. NW in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. It's the first restaurant for founder Ran Nussbacher.
The menu of Middle Eastern-inspired dishes like vegetable or legume-stuffed pitas, salads, and soups is all plant-based. Even the labneh (a Lebanese dairy spread) is made from cashews. They're also serving craft beer, wine, and made-to-order "market sodas." Check out the entire menu on the restaurant's site.
Products like Arabic coffee and Shouk's hamsa spice blend will be available for purchase at the restaurant. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Status: Certified open. 613 K St. NW; website.
Editor's Note: A press release indicated the restaurant was in the CityVista development, but it is just near that location.
