Cappy's Crabs will be replacing Crane & Turtle at 828 Upshur St. NW, at least for the summer.

The restaurant, from owner Paul Ruppert, Nick Pimentel and their team, will open Friday, May 27, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. They'll serve blue crabs by the dozen and half-bushel, plus beer, sides, and specials.

Pimentel is designing the space to include picnic tables, music, and more. Expect Natty Boh and Orange Crushes on the drink menu. Here's the full list of menu items from the release:

Crabs, Crabs and More Crabs
Beer - Cheap Beer & Craft Beer
Crab Cakes
Corn on the Cob
Hush Puppies
Deviled Eggs
Soft Shell Crabs
Fried Fish Sandwich
A weekly Oyster Happy Hour
Popcorn Chicken - for the kids
Shrimp - peel and eat
Tomato Salad
Orange Crush

Crane & Turtle closed in late April and has been hosting pop-ups in the space since.
