1) DC Crab Cake Competition

What: Attendees will try crab cakes from D.C. chefs like Matt Adler of Osteria Morini, Victor Albisu of Del Campo, Ann Cashion of Johnny’s Half Shell, Chris Clime of PassionFish Bethesda, Patrick Curran and Mark Gears of Momofuku, Anthony Lombardo of The Hamilton, George Rodrigues of Tico, and Ed Scarpone of DBGB. The winning chef will win funds to support a culinary intern in their kitchen, and local culinary students will compete for a chance to win a scholarship. 2) Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival

What: This festival will celebrates the local Caribbean community.  Food vendors at the festival will sell jerk dishes like chicken, pork, fish, lobster, and even jerk ice cream and jerk popcorn. There will also be cooking demonstrations and competitions, as well as reggae and cultural performances. Advance tickets ($20) and more information are available here. Get tickets at the festival gates for $30.

When: Sunday at 12 p.m.

3) Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival

What: Admission includes a souvenir glass for unlimited tastings of more than 60 craft beers and 40 bourbons. Area barbecue restaurants will serve food, and the event promises live music, arts, and crafts. Tickets ($45-$70) are now only available at the door. Find more information about the event here.

When: Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

4) Giant National Capital BBQ Battle

What: This huge event celebrates cooking by fire. Taste free food samples and enjoy cooking demos and live music with admission. Tickets ($12-$125) and more information are available here.

When: Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m.

4) Doi Dua Pop-Up

What: Popular Portland Vietnamese pop-up Doi Dua is coming to D.C. this weekend. They're taking over the bar's kitchen with drinking snacks and tiki drinks. Find more information here.

When: Sunday at 5 p.m.

5) Northern Virginia BrewFest

What: This festival highlights summer seasonal beers from local breweries. Admission includes a sampling glass six beer sampling tickets. More tickets can be purchased for $2 each. Buy festival tickets ($30) and find more information here.
