Biting back

Founding Farmers has published a response to Tom Sietsema's tough zero star review of the restaurant, which made headlines yesterday (it's only the second in the critic's history to reflect that rating). The restaurant thanked its supporters, and wrote on Facebook: " Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We're proudly owned by American Family Farmers, and we work hard to deliver quality, affordable, delicious food and drink to every guest that joins us. From our first day, eight years ago, we've learned a lot, continuously strive for improvement each day, and have accomplished many milestones.

Last year at our D.C. location we welcomed and served 575,000 guests. We value the thousands of reviews we've received on OpenTable and we'll continue to work hard to deserve the 95% of our guests who say they would recommend the restaurant to a friend. We acknowledge that we are busy! Therefore, we do encourage reservations...We welcome you to form your own opinion and join us...we'll be doing our absolute best to give you a restaurant you can love and return to again and again." Anniversary deals

It's Brookland's Finest's anniversary today, which means all-day happy hour drink pricing, and half-priced Colonel Burgers, the restaurant's most popular menu item.

Another milestone

Speaking of anniversaries, custard shop favorite The Dairy Godmother has been open 15 years in Del Ray, as of today.

Good for groups

DC Refined has a good roundup of some places offering batch cocktails. Think The Royal, Eat the Rich, and more.
