Inside the Anticipated Anxo, Which Brings Cider and Pintxos to D.C. Wednesday

Get a first look at the space

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Cider lovers have been patiently awaiting the arrival of Anxo Cidery & Pintxos Bar, which has been bound to open at 300 Florida Ave. NW. The opening is finally here this week — the venue will open to the public Wednesday.

Exposed brick and wooden finishes and furniture can be found throughout the space, which has an industrial feel. Expect interesting ceiling and window detail, a patterned wall behind the bar, plenty of bar seating and a big barrel of cider (the bar is collaborating with Millstone Cellars to produce its own cider) as a focal point.

Since the project was announced more than a year ago, Anxo has been popping up at various locations around town. The project is from Sam Fitz, Rachel Fitz, Tim Prendergast, Cooper Sheehan, and chef Alex Vallcorba. More details about the menu to come later this week.
