Summer break

POPville has word that The Saloon, beloved no-music, no-TV, no-standing bar on U Street, will be closed this summer for their charitable efforts from August 7th until September 1st. You have like two weeks to get your suds in from this spot. [POPville]

Not on an empty stomach

Late night munchies wasn't all that a robber was after late on Tuesday night. Borderstan reports on a robbery that happened at China Wonder Carry-Out on Georgia Ave. NW, where a thief ordered chicken wings, and when denied, pulled a gun. [Borderstan]

UberBikes

Uber's not content to sticking with four wheels when it comes to food delivery. Washingtonian reports that the UberEats service is now (quietly) deploying bikers to deliver foods. [Washingtonian]

Monkey King is coming

WCP has the intel on the forthcoming Monkey King, from the brains behind The Fainting Goat. The Blagden Alley resto wants to be "a little mischievous, a little playful" and will serve dim sum, noodles, dumplings and fun street food like egg waffles. [WCP]
