Doner Bistro Says Goodbye in Adams Morgan

The Adams Morgan location of Doner Bistro is closing.

Its last day will be August 1. The restaurant announced it was closing on Facebook and also shared news of a closing party. July 31 with $1-2 German beer cans. "We appreciate all your loyalty, open mindedness towards our modern/Northern German craziness, your friendship, relationship, story exchanges, constructive criticism which has made us stronger and better at what we do; and your support in general throughout the good times as well as the bad ones," the restaurant wrote. "The initial overwhelming sadness that we felt is healing through looking back on the four years spend together as a community."

Their Facebook departure message also included memories of costume contests and Oktoberfest shenanigans, among other things.

Doner Bistro opened four years ago at 1654 Columbia Road. Locations of the beer garden and German kebab house remain in Frederick and Leesburg.
