1) ROCKVILLE/NORTH BETHESDA: Latin American restaurant Flor de Luna aims to open in North Bethesda, at 11417 Woodglen Drive, by mid-August. It'll serve Spanish, Peruvian and Mexican cuisine so think paella, ceviche and tacos. [PLYWOOD]
2) ATLAS DISTRICT: Chick-fil-A will replace the shuttered Checkers at 14th Street and Maryland, at 1401 Maryland Ave. NE, according to a Tweet from Ward 6 councilman Charles Allen. No word yet on an opening date. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
3) ROCKVILLE: Karaoke and Thai ice cream are both bound for Rockville Town Square. East Grille Karaoke is moving to 12 N. Washington Street in the Courthouse Center shopping center and Class 520 will open at 5 Dawson Avenue in a former vaping studio. It'll offer ice cream served in rolls, Thai style. [PLYWOOD]
4) FARRAGUT SQUARE: Philadelphia's La Colombe Coffee Roasters continues to expand its java empire. It's opening on I St. NW, in the former Dickey's Frozen Custard space. [PLYWOOD]
5) ATLAS DISTRICT: New York-based Two Boots is targeting a late fall opening at 1025 H Street NE. It serves pizza and Cajun cuisine and has other locations in Los Angeles, Tennessee and Baltimore.
