Boston's Tasty Burger opens today at 11 a.m. in Shaw, bringing its hormone-free burgers, as well as beer, wine and cocktails to the Atlantic Plumbing development.

The spot at 2108 8th Street NW will be the first location outside of Boston and the first to offer a full bar, which will serve boozy milkshakes, craft beer and twists on the gin rickey and Bloody Mary.

A Rise ‘n Shine burger (topped with an egg), a chili cheeseburger, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and a crispy chicken Parmesan sandwich will be on the menu. Fries, onion rings and tater tots come as sides. A digital jukebox and free foosball supply the entertainment, while a glass Coke-bottle chandelier enhance the retro vibe.

The interior will be decked in red and white and photography highlighting neighborhood graffiti. Giant garage doors will allow bar patrons to spill onto 8th Street during the warmer months. Opening specials will include $5 cocktails and $3 beers from 5 pm. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Friday.

Franklin Restaurant Group CEO David DuBois told Eater the restaurant doesn't have current plans to open additional D.C. restaurants.
