Eater critic Bill Addison has unleashed his 2016 Best New Restaurant list. Among the picks: Aaron Silverman's ambitious restaurant Pineapple & Pearls.
The Rose's Luxury chef debuted his second restaurant this year. It's a tasting menu-centric restaurant with menus priced at $250 per person, located on Barracks Row. Addison writes, "P&P's chefs develop dishes based on their own strengths and obsessions, and then Silverman acts as the maestro, making sure that the meal — which might zig-zag from matcha-flavored soba to sole Véronique and then to smoked short rib with red grits — feels entirely cohesive. True to his intention, the stunning level of execution never lets the evening fly off the rails."
This is the second edition of the list. The critic travels the country to determine the picks (which he files alongside his annual edition of the National Eater 38). To qualify, restaurants must have opened between May 2015 and May 2016. This year's list highlights such restaurants as Los Angeles' Baroo and New York's Wildair. Find the full list right here.
