1) K STREET: It’s opening day for Vieux Carre. The New Orleans-style cocktail bar from the owners of speakeasy The Speak will serve classics like the Hurricane and French 75, as well as some less obvious contenders like an Absinthe Frappe. They’ll also dabble in adult snow balls, and eventually add Cajun food in the fall. A weekday happy hour will feature $8 cocktails and discounts on beer and wine. Status: Opening tonight at 1413 K St. NW; website

2) ATLAS DISTRICT: It’s soft-opening night tonight for The Haymaker, the replacement to The Atlas Room. The low-key bar will specialize in beer and punches. Status: Soft opening tonight. 1015 H St. NE; website.

3) DUPONT CIRCLE: Rakuya is now open in Dupont, according to PoPville. This revamped restaurant replaced the similarly-named Raku Asian fusion place in the same location. Status: Soft opening (dinner only). 1900 Q St. NW; website.
