U STREET— The neighborhood is getting yet another bar, according to the Washington Post. The team behind Penn Social, Highline RxR, Big Chief, and the forthcoming Smoked and Stacked is opening Franklin Hall. The beer bar promises more than 20 brews and sausages from chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley. [WaPo]

SHAW— Washington Business Journal reports D.C.'s signature sausage is getting the fast-casual treatment. HalfSmoke is planning for an opening later this summer, and the restaurant will offer 10 different types of sausage served on bases like a sandwich, a salad, a grain bowl, or a flatbread. [WBJ]

BROOKLAND— PoPville reports Pho 12 is opening in the former Brookland Cafe space at 3740 12th St., NE. [PoP]
