It has a name — the new bar and restaurant replacing Poste in the Hotel Monaco downtown will be called Dirty Habit.
Opening this fall, a press release describes the upcoming place as "gritty," with a "stylishly dark attitude and edgy apocalyptic vibe" (keep in mind this is the Kimpton version of "gritty" and "apocalyptic," of course). There will be a large atrium and patio, so fans of Poste's destination outdoor space should be reassured on that front. Designers Dawson Design Associates are going for a noir and Gotham-inspired look "designed to make you feel pleasantly uncomfortable."
Chef Kyoo Eom, who oversaw Poste as well, will come up with a menu of global shared plates. There will be craft cocktails, too.
Poste, the hotel's longtime restaurant and bar, closed in May to make room for a new restaurant.
There is a Dirty Habit restaurant in San Francisco as well, though it is now no longer affiliated with Kimpton.
