ARLINGTON— American Tap Room has closed its doors in Clarendon. ARLNOW reports the restaurant shuttered Sunday, announcing the closure with signage on the door. The restaurant had denied talk of a potential closure to the publication earlier in the week. No word yet on what will occupy the space at 3101 Wilson Blvd. Additional locations of the chain remain in such neighborhoods as Reston. [ARLNOW]

DOWNTOWN—Lincoln’s pennies are going away. The restaurant is renovating its floor, which was previously outfitted with around a million pennies in honor of its Presidential name. The owners are hoping enough pennies survive to net the restaurant some cash. [WCP]

MT. VERNON TRIANGLE—RPM Italian has added a few more offerings to its plate. The new Italian restaurant will kick off an Aperitivo happy hour with $7 cocktails and wines. Antipasti like a truffle-stuffed pizza and ricotta ravioli will be $7, while fried olives and other smaller dishes are $4. The restaurant is starting Sunday dinner as well. [EaterWire]
