Legal woes

The upcoming cafe at the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture has run into a snag with its name. Formerly North Star Cafe, it shared a name with an Ohio-based cafe. The restaurant will now be known as Sweet Home Cafe (chef Carla Hall is consulting on the menu). Both the museum and its restaurant open next month.

Sushi savvy

Hotel restaurant wire

The restaurant at the upcoming SLS Hotel may include a restaurant from chef Katsuya Uechi, a master sushi chef from Los Angeles. Nothing formal has been announced though, and the hotel’s development has been hitting some snags. [WBJ]

Hillary Clinton is inviting chefs to endorse her — with recipes. Among those chefs involved with the new "Chefs for Hillary" campaign include Mario Batali and Dominique Ansel. [E]
